Parking Space Occupancy Monitoring

The system is designed to monitor the occupancy status of parking spaces in parking garages and lots. It counts occupied and vacant parking spaces, displays the location of an available parking space to the user, tracks the exact duration of occupancy, and calculates the time-based occupancy of each parking space. Consequently, it allows for the display of the actual quantity of vacant and occupied parking spaces on screens before entering a parking garage or lot.

For optimal operation, it is recommended that the system includes the following components:

  • Parking space occupancy sensors in parking garages of various colors (green for vacant spaces, blue for possibly disabled or electric charging station spaces, red for occupied spaces), with adjustable detection distance and sensitivity ranging from 0.5m to 4m, and a delay of 0-4 seconds.
  • Inductive sensors to detect the presence of vehicles in parking lots.
  • Information display boards indicating the occupancy status of parking lots (LED display screens or traffic lights) with the option of wireless communication with the main control unit.
  • Software for monitoring and counting parking garage or parking lot occupancy with the ability to review occupancy history.
  • Controllers with power supplies.
  • Main control unit.

Advantages of the Parking Space Occupancy Monitoring System

The offered equipment has all the necessary certifications and is developed and produced in accordance with standards and regulations. Occupancy monitoring enables timely notification of users and the operator of the parking lot or garage about the occupancy status of parking spaces and is recommended, especially due to the following features of the system.

The system prevents overcrowding of parking lots and parking garages, thus preventing traffic jams that lead to user dissatisfaction and, consequently, inconvenience or loss of revenue for the operator.

The system allows for the fair distribution of revenues in parking garages based on the occupancy of individual parking spaces, in the case of multiple owners of the parking garage.

It reduces wear and tear on parking equipment since vehicles do not drive in and out of the parking lot or garage, thereby decreasing the number of users that enter and exit without paying parking fees.

The system enables statistical analysis for the operator or owner of the parking lot or garage regarding visitor numbers and parking durations.
